Seaton Sluice

There was a slight breeze there and back. However, the sun was shining for our jaunt down the coast to Seaton Sluice. We last went in 2018! We managed to launch Bebside and Crofton just before a big ship set off heading to South Harbour.

This time we tied up in the harbour inside Seaton Sluice rather than on the slipway due to the sea swell at the harbour entrance. We then headed the short distance on foot to the Kings Arms for a well earned pint/soft drink. Once refuelled it was back to the the skiffs. The wind was against us, just like going. A fantastic days row especially by Andy, Peter and Jamie making up a crew of three instead of the usual five in Bebside!

On the way back there was a dredger at the harbour entrance. We had to conduct a Bridge to Bridge call via the hand held short wave radio to speak directly to the dregger ships captain. A first for me!
